Nice to see the progress on the branch. It looks like a great place for Diamond Bill to operate. Of course he will need a step stool to do so!

Progress is progress. You are certainly moving at a faster rate than I am.

Back in January or so, Rick introduced a new logo for HARSCO. And, I started an offline discussion with him about the logo, tweaking it using a graphics program. Then, there was also mention of possibly having decals made or cars made, using the new logo. So, I thought I would help Rick out by going a step further and give him a few options.

Big mistake.

What I have learned since then, and has been verified by many of our mutual South Jersey friends, is Rick cannot make a decision. And, I threw too many options at the poor guy. Originally, we did not know what model car he could use. So, I found a drawing on the internet that was close to the Athearn mill gondola. But, then, after more research, the only car we thought he would be able to get is from Accurail.

So, I threw more options at him using an Accurail drawing. Black cars with yellow lettering. Yellow cars with black lettering. Cars with a solid logo. Cars with a logo that is not solid. Cars with the logo on the left or right.

I admit, I went too far.

I should have stopped at one. Including the Athearn and Accurail car drawings, I had 26. But, of those, the last 10 were Accurail and were the only ones to really consider.

And, it is the last one that I like most and have presented here. All of our mutual South Jersey friends said I should post it to his thread. They actually said I should post many of the options and have a discussion on it. But, I don't think that will simplify the decision-making process for Rick.

Instead, I think the simplest is to present one option.

One.

So, I present the final drawing with the hope that everyone gives it the thumbs up, giving Rick the final nudge he needs to make his decision and finally reach the same conclusion I have: This is the one!

So, without further ado, here it is:

I think that is a sharp looking color and logo. Seems right for the era as well.

I love it! I'll order a couple for myself!

Ok Chuck, looks like us south Jersey guys have to work on Rick, but it wouldn't hurt to get some feedback from everyone else here. Should he or shouldn't he? I think he should!

I vote yes. It fits very well and I can see a few cars running on the BN.

There is something to be said for "management by embarrassment", Rick.

Now folks, in the interest of objectivity, most of what Chuck reports and purports is nothing less than the unvarnished truth...I tend to be a bit indecisive at times, but in mitigation, what's a fellow supposed to do when such a talented master of graphics offers up a veritable cornucopia of gondola eye candy such as this???? If this is up for a vote, shouldn't they see ALL the choices?

There you go again! I must confess I like the black version as well. So here's the plan; run both versions; #1 and #3 above.

Rick, I know you need at least 20 for yourself. I'll take 2. Bob says 'a few', so we'll make that 3. And a request for a run in N scale. We are up to at least 25 in HO. I think we need to present those drawings to some of the manufacturers and get some price quotes!

That's the beauty of having Accurail do the run. They will also produce a decal sheet of multiple numbers to go with the car. I know I will buy a couple cars for my layout and will need them.

I will buy at least one maybe two for my scrap dealers. I would choose the black gons myself for my era but I do like the yellow scheme as it stands out like Peabody Coal hoppers do. Interchange cars you know
