Its still there I just puled it apart to take the picture of all the foam in place..you can see the base of it with the weights on it..

I saw that one in my online search. It would be very different.
I wonder if they ever had gondola fires from maybe a hot coal?
I think mine will be much more of a basic ashpit.

LOL, that's one of those I'll get it maņana things, just so the ashes cool off.

I just noticed the fancy, never fail, automatic door opener. That metal bar between the rails. The door rides on the bar till it gets to the top and the rail curves away and the door opens.

Ok here is My attempt at a ashpit. I made all the master out of foam and then made molds so I can reproduce it.
The picture from previous ashpit post was from Milepost Models. It was a 16' x 16' O scale ashpit. I scaled mine to be 16' x 16' at 1:20.3 scale..

Thanks Guys..Here are some pic's with a little color added. I applied all the color prior to gluing it together. I used basic acrylics and then a couple washes. I still have to add all the soot and ash. just wanted to get it together so I could cut out the area so i can be installed...
