1. The name of my club that I belong to is the Galveston County Railroad Club located in Texas City, Texas.
2. The scale or scales it modeled,The club has a variety of layouts which are an O Layout, G gauge layout, N scale, A scale and HO scale.
3. The O layout is 3ft by 25 feet. G layout is 4 ft by 8 ft, N is E shaped with an additional island just completed and is 52 ft by 36 - It is modular and used to be our show layout(Now to big to handle). A traveling N layout is 3.5 ft by 30 feet. The HO layout is 35 ft by 35 ft with a center island and the Z scale is 4 ft by 6 ft.
4. Varies. 40s through 2000s.
5. The club sponsors a train show once a year in October. Several modular N,HO and Z layouts within the Houston area are invited to attend. Additionally, our retired members man the layout during museum group tours throughout the week.
6. The club's general business meeting is the 3rd Thursday.
7. We meet to run trains, learn about the hobby and fellowship.
8. The monthly dues you pay if any. $5 per month.
10. I have been a member since 1990 and each club member receives a key for entry during anytime the museum is open. Additionally, officers of the club have keys to enter the museum when the museum is closed.
11. The club is open to the public on most Saturdays from 10 AM to 4 PM. A small fee is required since it is located in the Texas City Museum.
