Wow, all of these 80's tunes bring back memories. I remember getting The Jam: All Mod Cons album at Capitol Hill Records on Colfax in Denver. Must have been about 1980, back when that section of Colfax was full-on cRaZy.

The Jam "To be Someone":

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajhcrCCM-yo

Probably the first tune I learned on Bass.

The Proclaimers have one of the greatest Ear-Worm marching anthem's of all time with "I'm gonna be (500 miles)":

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbNlMtqrYS0

My apologies if that one digs into your ear.

And Mojo Nixon. I saw him in Boulder, must have been the early 90's. A wee bit crazy crowd at that show....

I still find myself whistling this tune now and then:

That Mojo show was at The Sink (The Toilet would be a better description of that underground music hole), and right around that same time I saw Beck there when Loser just came out. That is a show I remember well, because he was the only act I have ever seen that was literally booed, heckled, insulted, and beer bottled off of the stage. He was so Effed up that when he took the stage he was staggering wildly and a couple stage hands had to assist him onto a stool, which he could not stay on at ALL. People started pitching beers on him during his first song, and eventually beer bottles started sailing. He got pelted good a few times. He hurled on the stage during his second "song" which I think might have been Loser. He was basically a drooling, flacid, falling down, drunk rubbing a guitar and mumbling incoherently. He was dragged off the stage after he started hurling, which set some folks in the crowd to losing their beer as well. Ahhh, the memories... He was actually opening for someone, and I don't even remember who it was at the moment. all I remember was Beck's "performance". No denying how catchy Loser is though. A true Ear Worm, and was something fresh at the time.

"I'm a driver, I'm a winner. Things are gonna change, I can feel it".

The Futurama episode with Beck is awesome.

I love "Weird Al" he makes all your problems disappear, when you hear one of his songs.
The only problem is, once you hear "Weird Al's" cover version it's hard to remember the original version.
Because his parody version sounds just as good!

First up,for the Star Wars fans out there, in a galaxy far far away.
