Hi.

As far as I know, the RRRR Historical Society never got off the ground. We were to be affiliated
somehow with the NRHS. Tom was working on it, but I never heard if he was continuing with it or
what haooened.

Might be nice to get it restarted.

Any takers?

John

Well on the NRHS website there's this FAQ on starting your own chapter.

http://www.nrhs.com/start_your_own_nrhs_chapter.htm

We need 10 people to get it started.

I'm in - so we need 9 more.

Well, 'bout 2 years ago, Tom did file papers with NRHS. We had it so far as to draw up some bylaws. Had a meetin' at my house, but it just faded away when Tom was laid off.
Tom, you still out there? Are we ready for another meeting and walk?

I'd love to have a meet-up and walk the line. I've been as far west as the trestle before Silverline - and walked it east to the SR swing bridge.

Ive never walked the abandoned Serviss or South River branches. With all this talk about RRs prosecuting for trespassing and being stopped by law enforcement officers - do you think it'd be a good idea to get clearance from Conrail Shared Assets (Browns Yard) for the walk?

RE: the RRRRHS - I hope you can get in touch w/ Tom and everything is OK.

Would be interested, for whatever I could contribute.
I tried to get to one of those walks the past couple years but my Fall weekends were always filled Looking for that to change this year, so hopefully this will come back together.

Do the walks always have to be in the fall? Why don't we have one in the late spring/early summer?

we did the walks in the fall cause the leaves were off the trees for better shots,as well as being able to site old ROW's thru trees and so forth. And as stated before, being able to find Lou's gloves easier on brown leaves!

Still plays with trains, but gets paid for it!!

(sorry if I wen't OT, but needed to add on this "line-walking" hehe)
