russ, carl and mike, thanks alot.
i have the truck repair kit on the shelf but i'm debating whether to start on it, or start on scratch building an s scale version of bar mills idaho hotel. s scale because i hope to put it on an upper elevation on the some day layout for forced perspective. i'm pretty sure i have all the needed materials to do it (styrene for a change of pace). i purchased all the windows and doors a year ago from tichy. i've always liked that structure, and back when i was building n scale kits, the idaho hotel and the depot were the only two bar mills n scale kits that i didn't build. i'm leaning towards the idaho.

the shed was my idea. not a part of the kit.
last night i decided to do something about my packages of scale lumber because they were taking up half of a shelf. (this is less than half of them)
i went to menards and bought a 5' piece of 1 1/2" pvc pipe and a 2x2. i set up the chop saw and cut the pvc in 5" sections, cleaned them up and painted them a red primer from ace. then i cut some masonite and epoxied the bottom piece of the masonit to the bottom of the 2x2, clamped it and let it sit overnight. then i epoxied the back piece of the masonite to the 2x2 and clamped it while i ran some errands. it was set up by the time i got back so i mounted it on the wall. i cut all the scale lumber to 8" lengths and voila!
the unlabeled tube is full of 4x4s right now, but in the future it'll be for odd sized lumber.
here's side view to better explain.

The quality of your work comes through loud and clear. I like all the details and that they all have a purpose. Is the shed under construction part of the kit or your invention? It adds some history.

Agree with Russ. Very well done. You have come along way since your N scale days Kevin.
And please get the REAL camera in there.

the rest of the crew is relaxing after work with a few beers and a checkers tournament.

i need some advise please....
the figure is broken in a few places: head, the saw, and a foot. what is the best glue for mending him? i really wanna finish the dio over the next few days and i need him in order to finish up. the figure is made of a resin, not the pewter i'm familiar with.
thanks in advance....

Kevin just a great job on this diorama.
The LP your waiting for most likely got killed by kamikaze pilots who were lost!!!
