Posted - 04/19/2019 : 6:25:29 PM LED lights arrived. Put up temporarily for a test. The camera picks them up very well as a mood lighting, but their white light is no where bright enough. I remember teaching the mood lighting systems on early Boeing 777 airplanes. back then they used florescent lights for white and LEDs for color. Nowadays they have LEDs that are bright enough for white. So using a blend of dimmable white LEDs and these colored LEDs I think I have a plan formulating .
More testing before the next movie |

I did a video test run with a tiny camera ($18 inline). Trouble is I get an interference on the picture between the LED lights and the camera. (Does not happen with my other cameras but they are more expensive). Ordered a 20' strip of dimmable color changing LEDs with supply and remote. should be here later today. Lets see how these do. |

Posted - 04/12/2019 : 1:25:05 PM Adding a little super elevation to the North end curve track to assist the locos around the curve. I know not prototypical in this early era.

Posted - 04/11/2019 : 5:55:58 PM I have one very short section of 15" radius on my mainline, (7-8"). Shay will go around but I have to slow it way down. But you also have to be wary of any close coupled rolling stock. They can touch at their corners and derail. Don't ask me how I know!!
