Fred, I see some things that require repair. Broken window for example'..
Terrell Posted - 11/20/2019 : 7:26:10 PM
No, Mike, I should have said from the start it wasn't going to be an exact copy. Hopefully it'll be an improved version.

Thanks, Carl !!

Not an EXACT copy of your earlier version, I see.

I like the little irregularities such as the damaged siding.

The doors and stairs are done.

When that picture was taken I had not yet installed that door because I planned on it being open so I wanted to wait until the heavy construction was done, I.E., the roofs. So, fast forwarding again.>>>>>>>>>>>

And the main roof and canopy over the side door.

Thanks, Carl!!

The windows are in place.

And I've started the stairs. Basswood.

Looks good Fred. I like the proportions of that little bugger..
Frank Palmer Posted - 11/15/2019 : 10:51:00 AM
No problem Fred. It's probably because I don't model one scale, era, subject . . .
Terrell Posted - 11/15/2019 : 10:38:06 AM
Thanks, Jerry !!

No, Frank, I believe I missed your junkyard thread. But it is worth framing. Somehow or another I guess I'm not hanging out in the right place, I only seem to catch little snippets of your work.

Thanks, Rich, I'll try not to disappoint.

You're off and running again Fred, and I am sure this will be another winner. Good beginning already. Can't wait to see more.

Fred, I don't know if you followed along with the junk yard build but I spent 2 months working on it. I have often thought of going in some night and cutting it out and bringing it home and framing it.

Looking great already!!

Frank, if you decide you're not using those.....

Thanks, Ted.

Well, I've decided to change the name from KING to Brammer Salvage. I already have a King hardware store. The early beginnings of this build pretty much follow suit with the build before and many others that preceded it. So I'm going to fast forward a bit >>>>>>>>>>

The window/door openings cut-out, walls braced and both sides painted Krylon Smoky Beige.

The siding is just copier paper painted, both sides, flat black. The cut into 3' wide strips, so I can hide the joints with battens later. And as you can see I've added the shakes to the upper walls, made from a roll of white oak laminate.

The windows, made from styrene strips, are primed and painted. The doors will be made from basswood. I want them installed before I add the battens.

BEAUTIFUL!!! Fred, simply beautiful & perfect'..
Frank Palmer Posted - 11/12/2019 : 7:23:36 PM

I don't want to have to come up with a bunch of junked vehicles. Nor do I want to junk what I do have.

I hear 'ya.
