What an extraordinarily picturesque model! I love every aspect of it.

Beautiful!! If possible it would be great to see a photo with it taken outdoors. I think that would bring out more detail.

Bob,

Thanks for all that you do in your builds here. Your s-b-s threads are fabulous, even though they are a larger scale than some of us model in.
Your pictures are perfect too. Nice all-around project!
What's next??

Greg, Dave, and Pete, thanks for your comments.

Pete.

I drilled holes for them and then jammed the point of a round toothpick with a bit of glue on
it into each hole. I then used a side cutter pliers to nip each one off leaving it protrude a
little. When dry I hit them lightly with fine sandpaper and applied the alcohol-ink mixture.

Bob,

Bravo... Bravo!

Now a question... what did you use for the nails/bolts on the ladder?

Greg is right on with his comments. It's always a pleasure to watch your builds!

Bob, it looks wonderful! I can see the micro sparkle in your snow just fine.
I can never get enough of your modeling, it's always educational and a joy to watch!
Thanks for sharing your talents with us again!

Bill, Fred, Pete, and Rich, thanks for your comments.

Well, it' done. I applied the finish I always put on model snow.

Now there is Good News and Bad News on this project.

The good news is that it is DONE. I sprayed the entire dio including the tree, the spring
house, and the base from above and then sprinkled on the last coat, shown below. This
mixture contains some very small pieces of "glitter".

The idea is not to make then whole snow full of glitter like a Christmas card but to just
have a few random glints of sunshine as you move around the dio. This worked out great to the eye.

The bad news is that I am a terrible photographer plus making the photo smaller for
the Forum I loose some small detail. As a result it does not really show much in any of these photos.

This one photo gives you some idea of what it looks like to the eye.

I can't say more than what others have said, but you have a way of capturing reality in miniature to a T. It's difficult to think it's not the real thing.

Fabulous, Bob, but I'm with Bill and Fred. It's time for warmth.

Beautiful work, Bob!

But I'm ready for spring.
Bill Gill Posted - 03/03/2020 : 08:33:27 AM
Odd to say, but that cold scene warms my heart :)

Rich, Bruce, Greg, Pete, Carl, and Mike, thanks for your nice comments, much appreciated.

Getting close to the end here. I again glued "snow" crystals all over the plaster on the
base, just like was done on the roof. This smooths out any harsh edges in the plaster and
produces a nice texture.

One more step to go.
