Posted - 12/24/2011 : 1:16:10 PM These 2 are the first of several left over from a large box lot of cars and rubbish (emphasis on rubbish, ) that I had bought a few years ago. I pulled all of the decent cars that took only a few hours of effort to move them to either keep or depart. The rest were salvaged for parts, trucks, etc and more than a few made some great kindling last winter,
But, I kept a few on the shelf thinking that there might be something there other than just kindling.
These 2 were basically wooden boxes with a boxcar roof section all nailed together when I started. |

Thanks! Background: I tried to sell this off for 2+ years and got tired of looking at it, so while I was working on some other projects, I got a few ideas to finish it off.
Think it's also an old Walther kit car for a crane tender or something of that class.
It'll be something else when I'd done with it, |

Thanks!
I've been using those 3.5" disk boxes for parts every since I stopped having a 3.5" disk drive. It just seemed to be a good use of them. |

Looking good, Martin. Your parts bin has to be large and interesting to dig through.
I've spent a lot of years accumulating parts and supplies while at shows and meets. One of the primary parts bins was John Armstrong's parts cabinet. I bought that to use it as just he did. It was stuffed full to the point that they could not get it open. Took me months to get everything out of it and to sort it out into keep // sell // trash piles. I use it all the time! Other storage bins are the old containers for 3.5" floppy disks - perfect size for parts packaging; 5' shelf of just those containers.
Now is the time to be using stuff up and having fun building models!
