I've never used Photoshop, but both Gnu Image Manipulation Program (free) and other picture editors I've used have an 'Add Text' function. I've used it for both embedded captions and author info.

I read your link and seems it could be the answer.
I downloaded heaps of You tube stuff, but the brush method I will give it a go tomorrow.

Wish I could add watermark to a 1000 photo's quickly...
