Before I started My Modular RR. I had started an HO layout in my basement. I did move along pretty well until I went to The Narrow Gauge convention in Hickory a year and half ago. I was bitten by the Large Scale bug again. Since then I have done a little here and there but not a whole lot of work.
Now that have the Modular pretty far along. I really don't have anywhere to run my locomotives unless I am at a show. Its been bugging me for a while. So I decided to tear out the HO layout and start me a "small" Large Scale layout. Here is where it all starts....
Pic's of what is being removed...
I had alot of it in some stage of scenery:

Anything new going on with your layout? It's been 1.5 years, have been looking for new updates or the final photos of your layout. It is soooo good, so curious about what your next steps were.

Wow its been a long while since I posted here. I have been so busy doing stuff for others I have not worked on the layout in a while. So I am trying to get back to it. Way back when I bought a laser cut engine house . I never really liked it. So I am going to build on from scratch.
this is a pic of the old one:

Do you have a link to the regulator that you are talking about?

Great video. There is a great little voltage regulator on ebay that will allow you to adjust the voltage to the motor therefore adjusting the speed. I have used them for the bell on the loco and it works extremely well. Also if you use with a timer you could have it raise to whatever you want wait then return with a few mini switches. Of course now everyone is into adrino, I have not progressed to that yet

What wonderful modeling. Welcome to the world called retirement, where there now is so much time but so many more non-modeling things to do.
Thanks for sharing.
