OK, Here are some photos of where I am at with my layout. At this point most of the layout is pink styrofoam with track pinned to it. Only one small section is complete. I dont have scaning so I don't know how to add a trackplan. Photos in next post

Always glad to see you again Arthur. Crohn's has no cure and after 40 years of it things are starting to get old.

Always a delight to see this thread active and to see progress.

What happened with the hospital stay? Hope everything is okay now, Roland.

Thanks guys. No work the past 3 days, still catching up from the hosp stay. Hope to get back to something tomorrow. Enjoyed the comments about the wagon. I thought the same thing myself but in truth it was the only thing I had laying around that was big enough to hold the car

Beautiful modeling, Roland. Youíve built a nice group of small buildings with lots of character. The caddy-wagon is a real winner.

Roland, nice to see you back working on the layout.
Excellent craftsmanship as usual.
Thanks for sharing.

Wow Roland a lot of nice buildings and details.

I guess with the virus you've been at home creating more wonderful scenes.

Roland,
You have been busy. The buggies and structures look fantastic. Love the fact the new fangled contraption is now being moved with a horse drawn wagon.

Posted the wrong picture of the wagon and Caddy

Have room for one more building and am thinking of a small church.

Thanks for looking. Roland

Here are some of the things I have been working on for my little town in a tiny space.

First was to finish the oil tanks I started a long time ago. It needed a wagon and mules and some dirt, simple project. Next I took all the buildings and details from Vinson's garage off the base as it was taking up to much space. Compressed the buildings a little and left off some of the details. Another simple fix. Then I saw I had room for this.

The wagon is a hay wagon from Model Tech and the car is from a Glenco kit of a 1903 Caddy. It is now parked in it's new home. Then I had room for a building and a half between the Caddy and the track. The white building is a Village store Scratch build with Grant Line doors, windows, and support posts for the porch overhang.

The last building is what I call a Hollywood movie set building. As you can see in the last photo Only what can be seen will be modeled in order to clear where the track is.

Your comments about the price of the kit got me wondering. I did get it at a show in MD at least 5 years ago. I saw on the computer last night they are selling for $17, so 12 was probably right. They have several different kits available so it might be worth looking as while they are very basic they are well done.

Anyway thank you all for looking and commenting. I started a kit from Bar Mills last night called Hinkels Package Store, but I am going to turn it into a small post office.

At least there's a silver lining to being trapped inside! I like the stain marks under the windows and going up from the bottom. Nice attention to details.

What wonderful work!

I really like the bike on the porch. A little detail to make the scene complete.
Rick Posted - 05/02/2020 : 7:13:01 PM
No way does that look like a $12 kit.
Great job on it and the completed ore dock.
Michael Hohn Posted - 05/02/2020 : 5:16:18 PM
$12!! How can that be? Itís a nice looking structure, especially with your enhancements and finishing touch.

Mike
